Our Fun

Ive just got in from doing an Amnesty International 'sticker run' round town. Me and Paul ended the session with a nice game of ice running. We found slabs of granite on the prom pavement and created "The New Winter Olympics" which consisted of the following games:

-Ice skating
-Figure Skating
-Ice running
-Ice Running at Each Other
-Ice Pushing People
-Ice Long Jump (no jumping involved)

We proved to be a very good piece of entertainment for some girls in a building behind us and two very strange people that were walking past....

Anywho, it was just a bit of fun.

My Amnesty

I've just got back in from the long journey from Edinburgh, 9 hours long!

I went to Edinburgh with my uni group: AberAmnesty to the National Student Conference in Edinburgh Universty. It is a really nice city and is also very easy to forget where you are going and get very lost....

We talked about the different campaigns, political prisoners and prisoners of conscience who have been freed in countries around the world, thanks to the help from Amnesty International.

There was also an ex-child soldier and hip hop artist: Emmanuel Jarl. He talked to us about his experiances as a child soldier in The Sudan and how he came to be a soldier, when his mother was killed.

The socials were amazing and very funny.



The Saturday's activities ended with a march through the city to show solidarity with WOZA: a women's rights group in Zimbabwe. The women who led the simultaneous march in Zimbabwe were jailed that night by their own government because they did such a march.

We all realised then, how lucky we really are that we had the support of the local government and police to make sure our march went safely. Unfortunately, it isnt the same in lots of countries worldwide....such as Zimbabwe.

My Journey

Tomorrow I set off on trip to Edinburgh with Freddie and Paul and my uni society Aber Amnesty. We are going to the Amnesty International conference. Its gunna take a whole 8 HOURS to get there (or there abouts).

Also, in today's news. I have done a lot on one of my essays today, and I think I will write my outline to send to my seminar tutor now, before I watch another episode of the hit tv series SCRUBS! WAHEY!

My Work

Today I have realised that I actually have a lot of work to do. My mind drifts off in to a world of happy things and then someone delivers a tonne of bricks and crushes my thoughts. Attached to these bricks are little notes, which have, written upon them information that makes me realise that I HAVE to finish reading this damned book for one of my essays. It doesnt help that I have two essays in the for the same day. The library here doesnt have any of the books on the book list!?

Well, this is quite a good film, a lot better than I thought. Me, Freddie, Lucy and Jason went to see this a few hours ago. Very good film and well reccommended to go and watch!

For those that DONT know, Joshua Radin is a singer/song writer who creates amazing music and Zach Braff is an amazing actor who is one of the stars in Scrubs and the star in the film: Garden State.
